8. What did you learn from NaNoWriMo? And will you ever rewrite or revisit the novel you wrote?
Wow. What did I learn? I knew I could write. I knew I had stories to tell. I guess I learned I could finish. That’s a pretty amazing thing to find out when you’re talking about fifty thousand words. I also learned that I can produce quickly, and that, in my opinion, obstacles are only opportunities to quit that you have to choose to take.
I’ve already second drafted the story (I think I improved it). As for revisiting it, I don’t know — on one hand, there are prequels and sequels rolling around in my head that I’d love to write, on the other hand, I found a really wonderful ‘place’ (in the form of the Makinnon Inn) while doing Strange Weapons, and I’ve toyed with the idea of doing a series of collected short stories all set in that place.
