It occured to me late last night that, after taxes, the paycheck for my first Denver job would still be considerably more than the unemployment check I’ll (eventually) get, and that check appears to be enough to make ends meet.
The idea that we can still get by with my check being that small is just… weird. I never really had any extra money, but with half that much coming into my account now, I’m still fine? How does that work? I guess it’s a good thing to know that your life hasn’t become grossly expansive (and expensive) in the last five years, but I keep thinking I’m doing my math wrong or something.
With that, I’m done posting about this topic for awhile. I’ve got no desire to make this Unemployment Blog.
