Me. I read a lot of web sites (more than I should, according to the Employee Internet Use policy manual, at any rate), and here and there I see people talking about all the writing they’re doing besides their blog.

Right.

Sorry, I’m a cynic about this, because I know how writers work; I know how I work — writers want people to see what they’re writing — if it’s not something you ever want someone to see, then it’s not writing, it’s therapy. I believe it when someone who obviously has issues to work out says they have a private journal where they put their REALLY fucked-up shit, but other than that, nah: if you’re writing stuff, you’d be putting it somewhere public. You’re trying to get your work published officially, so that’s why it’s not online? Fine, where’s all the stuff you have no market for? Where’s all the writer’s equivilant of notebook-cover doodles? If a word is written in a forest and left in a desk drawer, does it really exist? In this world, no.

So, when I say I’m working on writing stuff besides this blog, take it with a grain of salt.

Anyway… I’m working on writing some stuff besides this blog, and it seems to be going pretty well (Meera, getting that Swift RD to you this week, I think, though it’s thinner than I was planning on in some places.)

When I’m done, I’ll put it up here. Actually, some of it is already up here, but I don’t have links to it anywhere, which means you won’t be able to find it until I’m ready.

Right. Write.
