The FAA has posted a job listing for Federal Air Marshals. I actually know a couple people for whom this would be a pretty good job. Upside, you get to see the world. Downside, you HAVE to see the world. (Also, people sometimes want to kill you.) It would require a certain mindset, I suppose. It’s interesting to me, anyway, since I’ve never really looked the requirements for these sorts of jobs, before. The job requirements for the FBI are pretty interesting, too.

A co-worker says there’s been a rush to apply for these positions, and why not: it theoretically patriotic, you’re ‘doing something’, and it does pay pretty well… maybe not hazard pay, but it is what it is. I couldn’t find the article they referred to about the rush to apply, but I did find an interesting piece on what may or may not be done during the interim while the new generation is being trained.

I think it would be a very interesting job to have. Because of my life situation, it’s not one I’d ever seriously consider, but I suppose it’s one of those ‘woulda - coulda’ entries.
