Some genius on Blogcritics eloquently summarizes my thoughts on Radiohead:

I hate Radiohead. There I said it. They have got to be the most overrated group to ever grace the planet, and frankly I find the elitism of their fans to be absolutely annoying. That band could sit around in their living room, fart into a mic, and people call it genius then say to the people who hate it, “you just don’t get it.” In fact, didn’t they do that on one of their albums? Kid A perhaps? Anyway, the point is, I can’t stand this band.

He goes on, conversely, to talk about how despite all this he still really enjoys one of Radiohead’s early albums that he imprinted on as a wee bairn. I know exactly what he means: for me, that album was the eponymous Pearl Jam CD. I hate virtually everything that group has done since Eddie Vetter started felating emulating Neil Young, but that first crazy crazy album… I’m surprised the disc still plays. Certainly, the CD case looks like I shipped it around the world by way of the Gaza strip. I doubt any album will impact me that way again.

Yep, everything Pearl Jam has done since the first album sucks.

It sucks ass, Fartology or whatever that pathetic third album was called was the first CD I even threw in a burn barrel and gleefully watched turn into Greenhouse Gases and Ozone Hole Burners.

Temple of the Dog was a good album, Mother Love Bone and Malfunkshun were good albums, all three of those had members of Pearl Jam in them, so I blame it all on the crappy Chevron-Tesoro Alaksa gas pump boy Eddie Vetter.

Pearl Jam and Radiohead are just two examples of why I've become a Older Is Better guy when it comes to music today.

But the funny thing is, I like the Mirrorball Neil Young album which had Pearl Jam as the backing band. Only Neil Young or Pearl Jam album which has survived the Purges and survives in iTunes and on the iPod.
