I went to the circus yesterday.

Alone. I didn’t take my kid, or a camera. I went to see the acrobat.

I used to think that’s what I wanted to be: to wear the makeup and the tights and show people how nimble I was.

Now I go so that there’s someone there who understands how awful it is for him.
