One of my email taglines is a quote from Frank A. Clark — someone complimented me on the line today, which prompted me in turn to learn google a bit more info about the person behind the words.

It turns out that Frank A. Clark’s claim to fame is a lovely chicken-before-the-egg situation in which he is well-known for being quoted and quoted because he is well-known.

Not to say it’s not justifiable: one quote I particularly liked (which I ran across during my googling) was, “Habits are things one can do without thinking, which explains why most people have so many of them.”

Anyone know anything else about the guy?

Nope, dagnabbit. I have just one quote by him in WIST, but all my research, like you, is "Hey, he said this quote -- that's his claim to fame." No who, when, where, or what to it.
