I woke this morning to the revelation that I have progressed beyond grinding my teeth in my sleep to actually gnashing them.

Time to get your self a mouth guard next time you are at a Sporting Goods Store.

They actually sell a device at dentist offices that'll prevent you from wearing your pearly whites down to nubs.

Yeah, I actually have to get the hard plastic guard that the dentists make from a mold of your mouth -- they SNAP into place at night... using the soft guards actually hurts, because I chew on them so hard that I drive them into my gumline during the night.

The words are 'raw' and 'bleeding'.

Anyway, I've gone through two of the hard guards (broke the first one and lost the second), so I have to get another one soon...

but first, the dentist says I need crowns on two of my molars, because I've shattered the filings and the teeth are too worn down to just replace the filling. Whee.

Once the crowns are in, then I get get the mold made and the guard ordered.

Until then, I gnash.

Oldie but goodie:
What do you call a big bear shaped like a tooth?

A Molar Bear. Heh.

Well, if it stands on its hind legs and growls imprecations at you, then you could call it a Bi(cuss)ped, too.

I grind also. I'm a little concerned now that I have a crown....they say you can crack them by grinding...yuck!

Get a cheap one made now while you wait to get your crowns done. You'll be looking at root canals if you continue to grind more on some of those teeth. (You'll grind right into the nerve-we've seen it happen) Advise from your dental assistant mom. Love you!!
