Since I went to individual-pages for commenting, my comment spam has quin-maxi-quad-trebled, so I guess it’s time to install MT-Blacklist.
… I notice that this plugin zip is remarkably free of… any kind of readme. Hmm.

That said, it's an interesting observation. Makes me wonder if folks are scanning for HTML files with the appropriate forms in them (rather than CGI/scripts).
Regardless, your change has made *my* life easier. Which is, after all, what counts.

Well, there is that. It does have to parse the links against an ever-burgeoning list of Bad Link Morphemes (the mast list started at several hundred, and mine is now up around two thousand). There are ways to consolidate and wildcard and regex the stuff, but they're all pretty inconvenient.
That said, it beats involuntarily shilling for nasssty people.
