M. Night’s Shyamalan just announced he’s doing a movie based on Nikolodean’s (wonderful, funny, inspiring) Avatar: the Last Airbender.

Maybe I've become an old fogey, but: Does every successful animated series HAVE to become a Major Motion Picture (tm)? What's wrong with animation?

I see nothing good coming of this.

Why would MNS make a movie about it? Bizarre.

"Avatar" is amazing. The only problem is that it suffers from the usual, "Marketed to kids, have to keep 'kids-level' interest," issues.
