Well, it’s after Thanksgiving, so that’s what you get — all the stuff I should have said then, but didn’t — like calling my parents, it’s one of those things I would have said if I’d thought about it, but I didn’t, so I didn’t. So thank you:
- My friends, who are my family.
- My family, who are my friends.
- In November, I found out that something I thought I didn’t find fun anymore still was.
- I found out that not only do I have a story to tell, I have several — too many to tell all at once — and I actually have the ability to tell them. For someone like me, that’s an amazing thing.
- I have been… I was going to say lucky, but it doesn’t feel like luck. I’ve been blessed the past several years by my wife, my nephew, my friends, and my job; when I look ahead, things look good. Sometimes I forget that that’s special.
- People came here to see what I was talking about three thousand times last month, and almost as many this month, even though I didn’t have as much to say. Three thousand times. I’m not talking about drugs or sex or indie bands or bowling or college; it’s just me, and still people want to read it. What can I say to that but thank you?
- Lastly, entirely, completely, my wife. Thank you. If anyone’s listening up there or down there or out there or over there, thank you. A thousand thousand thousand times. I am as I am because she is as she is.
That’s really all I’ve got to say. Be safe and stay clear of the candied yams.
