Friday Five is fun. It’s going on the link bar. Questions and Answers:

1. Have you ever had braces? Any other teeth trauma? Hmm, well, you could look here for some of it, but to boil it down, I grind my teeth like a grain mill, and 20 years of that bad habit is starting to take it’s toll. Filling replacements and tooth caps are in my future. My first visit to the dentist in 3 years: no cavities, but the exams and x-rays still cost my insurance company 250 bucks. :P

2. Ever broken any bones? Never officially. I’m fairly certainly that I broke a few of my toes when I was in football. Tape it and move on.

3. Ever had stitches? The only opening I had cut in me was too deep and narrow to stitch up, since there was so much open space inside. Has to pack it with gauze every day for a month as it slowly healed from the inside out and closed up. FUN!

4. What are the stories behind some of your [physical] scars? Lesse. Think I need a bullet-list for this one:

• There’s a nasty scar on my tailbone from a bone-spur thing that happened when I was in college.
• I fell off my bike and did a forehead-plant into a gravel road when I was about six… left center forehead.
• Chickenpox scar on my right temple, sub-cutaneous.
• An inch-long scar on the underside of my chin where I tried to shave with Grandpa’s razor when I was three (really shows up when I have a few days stubble).
• Scar on the base of my left thumb from a nasty bike tumble in college — the scar now spells “Hi”, it’s cool.
• 1/2-inch scar, still pink after 6 months, on the base of my right thumb, picked up during the move to the new house.
• There’s more, but minor, and not worth sharing.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Superbowl on Sunday. I’ll probably watch, just for the commercials, although with New England and the Rams playing, I’m in one of those “why couldn’t they both lose” situations. Today? Who knows. Maybe paint some lead.
