The non-combat applications are amazing, but I thought the most interesting bit was the idea that, since the gun is fired electronically, you could make it NOT fire if the gun wasn’t in contact with a special ring the cop wears — crook grabs gun — it won’t fire for him.

That’s getting into the “any technology sufficiently advanced looks like magic” realm. I mean, it’s all just a tube… tell me they couldn’t make it look like a wand if they wanted to.
