I had a dream last night that Ian was in a coma, but I hadn’t realized it because he hasn’t gotten his website back on CTHB.org yet.

Luckily, Ian is alright (except for the domain issue), and even had a link up to a transcript of Jackie’s cats talking.

Very disturbing dream, though. See if you can’t take care of that, Ian.

I wish I could say that it's going to be quick, but the issue isn't technical. it's billing. I bailed off of the old ISP because their technical sucked. (Actually, it was non-existent save for a single RTFF message for something that wasn't covered in the FAQ.)

So, I'm trying to get my prepaid money back. I'm not too keen on starting on a new host until I recoup some of the money. Do I really expect to get it back? No, but it was a significant chunk of change. I'm not sure what to do. My next step is to start sending physical mail.

Then I'm going to start hitting the Better Business Bureau, FBI computer fraud unit and Planet Feedback (why not)?

So that's where I am. I'd move www.cthb.org over to the current location of the blog, but that costs me additional money on my current ISP, so I'm going to beg off on that.

Anyone got recommendations on a new host?

Webstrike Solutions is, if nothing else, extremely cheap. And since they are something else as well, I'm pretty happy with them.

Turn in your review to hostsearch.com... It seems like the best place for such things...

Unless you're talking about something above and beyond just hosting. Hell, I'm not really "with-it" on this stuff. But the guy who writes Schlock Mercenary really likes myguard.net.
