My former co-worker and I both owned our own domains during the period of time we worked together. I think, between the two of us, we changed hosts 3 or 4 times during that interval.
It was always a nightmare, and the conversation preceeding said nightmare was always the same.
1st guy: “I think I’m going to change my host, dude.”
2nd guy: “Man, don’t do it: you know it’s going to be hell.”
1st guy: “Yeah, but maybe it’ll be better this time.”
2nd guy: “You’re with Verisign, right?”
1st guy: “Yeah, I’m still with Verisign. Switching off Verisign to someone else is worse that using Verisign to switch hosts, so I haven’t done it.”
2nd guy: “Then you don’t want to switch man. Verisign is gonna make you regret it.”
And guy #2 was always right. Because that’s Verisign.
