It occurs to me that the dogs may not really be pursuing the cats around the house for the sake of bugging them.

They might simply find Thomas as annoying as I do.

My Mother used to have a cadre of Rotts and a herd of cats.

The large German wardogs were scared to death of the cats.

That's because the cats would slash at the snouts of the dogs when the dogs were puppies.

I have an iguana :). He fears nothing but the crows that lurk atop the building across the street when he is outside. When that third bird shows up, he comes inside. Quickly.

You have an indoor/outdoor iguana?
I 'iguana sat' once, and I wouldn't credit them with enough... sense... to realize that sticking around you might be a good idea...

I have an indoor lizard that goes out when it's nice enough.

Iktomi, he's 6, and he house trained himself. He will scratch at the door when he wants out, knows when NASCAR should be on and moves into position to watch.

He will watch Vikings and Packer games, but shows no interest in other football games.

He knows his name and will come if you call him...70% of the time.

He's also shown the ability to turn on computers with a power switch in the keyboard (Macs).

Well, I guess if you consider they are related to birds...

I just never woulda thunk it...

From close observation of 2 Iguanas, it seems to me that they act more like cats than any thing.

Lazy, hungry, curl up in balls, sniff around, hide under things, claw furniture...

But Iguanas are easier to house train.
