  • Friday: Parents, both mine and Jackie’s, arrived around 5 pm 7pm that afternoon. No idea what we’re doing this evening, but it might involve going out to eat or summat. We ended up going to Red Robin, where the service and food was even better than it is normally.
  • Saturday: Maybe a run Ran to the Denver Botanical Gardens in the morning with Dave and picked up lots of high-sun, low-water plants for the front yard landscaping, plus a few more climbing rose bushes for new trellises on the front of the house. Jackie’s graduation was at 1:30 in the afternoon, with food and drink afterwards at the house. About 30 people showed up, and Margie’s food was a unanimous hit (plus, since she sort of automatically cooks for 65, leftovers!), although we’ve got about 2 cubic giga-liters of unused beer and juice to deal with. Justin and I went to Spiderman that night, and everyone stayed home and watched Episode 1 on DVD (they were going to go see Lord of the Rings while we watched the Web-head, but it was sold out).
  • Sunday: My folks are heading headed back home (after a very successful shoe shopping expedition (I got two new pairs myself)), while Jackie and her family went to the zoo. I got home and cleaned up the place and then vegetated for awhile. When everyone got home, I dug deep into Margie’s leftovers and made a big batch of Pesto Chicken and Buttered Pasta with Parmesan (pretty damn good if I do say so myself, and thanks for the idea Margie).

We all watched the Green Mile (which Jackie and I have never watched, although we’ve owned it for a year), which was great.

Justin woke me up around midnight and we spent the next 5 hours in and out of the bathroom while he fought his way through some pretty rough vomiting. He’s feeling better now, and spending the rest of the day in bed. Would that I were so lucky — all I got was tired.

That was our first official All-night-Sick-athon, so mark off another checkbox in the Parenting Handbook.

Ouch. Sorry about Justin, and hope he didn't catch the bug off of us. If it's the same thing, though, hope you and Jackie don't have busy schedules yourselves for the next week or so ...
