- We had to call off the normal get-together on Friday that I was planning on making into a “pre-Episode II” event.
- We missed Alias on Sunday and forgot also to tape it.
- We almost missed taping Angel last night, and did miss the opening scene. Haven’t seen it yet, even :P
- We won’t be able to watch any of the three shows we watch on Tuesdays.
- My back is killing me from sleeping on an air mattress in the basement for the last 3 days, and ‘visiting’ is just another word for “keeping me from doing all the shite I need to do in my office.”
I want my life back, dammit.
I’ve come to the conclusion that having people visit for a week is very nearly as disruptive as traveling two states to visit THEM for a week.

Forget taping.
Get a Tivo or a Replay TV and you will never forget to tape anything again.
I have a 30 hour Replay, I have it set to record and save the last two Futuramas, Simpsons, Farscape, Andy Richter, 24, History's Mysteries, Iron Chefs.
And I have 9 hours of pause time. Yep, I can pause live TV for 9 freaking hours.
Screw tapes, they'll just leave you wanting.

So no game this Friday??

Or was that *last* Friday? I'm guessing? Since this coming Friday will, actually, be *post*-Episode II. (and if anyone Spoils, there will be blood on the floor. Maybe I should just miss the game.)
On the Long Visitations ... yeah. When we go off and visit the kinfolk, it's both more relaxing (because we don't have any household maintenance or hosting duties to perform) and more stressful (different bed, different food, different opportunities to get to a computer or read or do anything). When they visit here, it's both less relaxing (gotta host, gotta made decisions what we're doing, can't just veg in front the TV or spend all evening blogging) and less stressful (our own bed, our own shower, our own cars).

Yeah, Doyce. Get a TiVo. I dare ya. I double-dare ya.
It looks like you'll end up with one before I do ... :-/

Don't do it Doyce! If you get a Tivo all the "kids" will want one!

Do it, Doyce! Buy one!
Then I can convince Lou that we need one. "See, all the cool kids have them..."
(We'll need one for taping at Thanksgiving. We missed lots last year as our cat-sitters changed the channel on us, unbeknownst to us.)

The new Replay TVs have up to....
320 hours of storage on them.
And a 10/100 Ethernet interface for emailing shows to people with Repaly TVs or computers.

And SonicBlue (ReplayTV) is under court order to collect explicit, detailed, personalized info on who is using that e-mailing function for what, who is skipping commercials, etc., to hand over to the content firms suing SonicBlue. Bleah.

Dont want to rub it in but you did miss a hell of an Alias on Sunday - I have it on tape along with the Practice but I imagine by the time I sent it to you it would be into full summer replay, hopefully someone out there has it, because it it were the season ender it would a great tease to next year. ABC Family replays Alias alot, check it out, you might be able to get it there on like Friday nights or something.

SonicBlue is fighting the court order.
They are not collecting anything at this time.
Besides, even if they do, there will be work arounds for it. I've heard if they do it, they are going to advertise the port numbers for the spywire upload so one can block it at the firewall.

Sonic Blue won a stay.
Federal Judge Florence-Marie Cooper has stayed the order which would require SONICBlue to begin recording users viewing habits and reporting them to the MPAA, et al. It has been stayed until June 3rd, at which time the court is to review SB's motion to throw out the order entirely.
Get a Replay TV :)
