Since when do I have a topic to be off of? :)
We’re not near the fire, but the smoke is definately affecting the Denver Metro area… the entire place smells like a campfire and feels as though it’s being being lit by a sodium light. Ash is not currently falling, although it was on Sunday pretty much whereever I went.
I don’t know how much smoke there is, but my eyes and nose and throat are sort of perpetually low-grade irritated, even if I’m not conciously aware of the why of it. We’re in no physical danger in the city. Would that that could be said for the folks who’ve lost homes.
And of course this one isn’t something natural like a lightning-strike fire — just a couple morons (And rumored repeat offenders) who decided that there was no way their fire would be a problem.
I should mention that ***Dave has some fire info links posted here, which indicate that this whole thing might get closer.
A wild, dry summer indeed.
