Kudzu came over in the 1880s. And it did a good job, for a while.

Actually, the HMO concept (encouraging regular check-ups and other health maintenance (vs. lack-of-health fixing) activities) is a good on. Even the idea of Managed Care has some merit to it.
Unfortunately, the devolution of health care in the US into a for-profit insurance/pharmaceutical/hospital industry has turned the HMO name into a subject of ridicule, not innovation.
Whoops. Let me get off my soap box now, before I get hurt ...

Oh and on breast implants. I'd not say it was so bad, because it lead to other implants and a much better understanding of the human body's rejection functions, I'd say that the lawsuits were bad. I've been personally screwed over by some of the fallout from that.
Lawyers were the problem in that situation, and an agressive media.

Hey!? what's the matter with mohawks and men's thong underwear? (Now you know why I'm so handy with the ladies)

Virg, yah know I love yah, but if I'd ever seen you in a thong when we were rooming together, I'd have torn my eyes out with a spork.
Just so we're clear.
