I’ve never been to an Outback Steakhouse — partly, I like Hops a great deal and the two seem to be in the same niche, but the other thing is that I just hate their ads.

Then again, I never considered the restaurant’s potential entertainment value if you’re an actual Austrailian.

There’s something there called ‘Bloomin’ Onion’. I haven’t a clue what it is, but it’s an appetiser there, (or, an ‘Aussietiser’, according to the Steakhouse menu…) and the description reads “an outback Ab-original”. I can hear the groans from here. The rest of the menu is merely silly and amusing… but this one is downright awful. Painful.

Not as painful as what they’re apparently doing to John Howard, though. There’s a menu choice called the Prime Minister’s Prime Rib.

Ummm. Dude? Did your site get hacked or something? You've got what looks like some sort of weird graffitii on it?

Been to Outbadk, didn't like it.

Black Angus is better IMO.

Actually, it looks like someone hacked Blogsnob, which was this goofy little thing that rotated a random link to other people through the page. They hacked that site so that anyone using it would pull that big picture.

Been meaning to delete it anyway, so this just provided a reason. All fixed.

I assume Outback has as much to do with Australia as Texas-themed restaurants I've eaten at outside of Texas have to do with my home state.

(And, yes, the London idea of a Tex-Mex restaurant is pretty humorous. The "nachos" bore a strong resemblance to a pizza on a tortilla.)

I much preferred the Colorado Mine when I was in Syracuse. For one, their steaks were a hell of a lot better, they had better prices and they had really hot waitresses in tight shirts.

Guess which one wasn't really a factor.

BTW, the rest of that guy's page is hilarious. I'll have to read it over some more later, when I shouldn't be working.

Outback is pretty good, I do prefer Hops, tho. We don't go too often cuz it's a madhouse. I guess I feel the need to defend it because the very first one is just a few blocks from where I am sitting right now. (Tampa)

Last time I ate at an Outback (a year ago) the steak was damned good. Last time I ate at Black Angus (last Thursday) the steak was sub-mediocre.

I've never been wowed with Outback on the occasions I've visited. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing quite right.

Plenty of other steak houses here in Denver to visit.

Outback was always just a little bit too expensive for what we got, I thought. I'd prefer Chili's over it.

However, a Texas Roadhouse just moved into the neighborhood, and it is THE place to go for steak here. Yum.
