the friday five

1. Where are you right now?
At my desk at work, waiting for this database to finish backing up.

2. What have you lost recently?
I lose my keys all the time, but if you mean ‘lost permanently’, that would be my car-charger for my cellphone. Huge pain, that.

3. What was the first CD you ever purchased? Does that embarrass you now?
The first CD I ever purchased was Elvis Costello’s “Spike”, which is a great album, but it wasn’t for me — I didn’t have a CD player at the time — it was a graduation present for a fellow senior at Miller High School.

4. What is your favorite kind of writing pen?
The Pilot G-2. Black ink only, please (I think blue ink looks chintzy.) I think it’s some sort of gel pen, but with black ink, it hardly matters. You can buy these bad boys in bulk at your favorite cost-club store.

5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Vanilla with chocolate syrup on it. (Shut up, that is too a flavor.)

Cell phone charger

There are USB chargers now that'll take a charge from a PeeCee or Mac or whatever with USB 1.1 or 2.0.

Works really well too.

I prefer blue pens, personally, so that when I mark up documents the contrast shows and I can actually read (let alone find) that Crucial Item We Have To Discuss Next Phonecon.

I think the blue pen thing started in High School. It hardly matters to me now, because I rarely write anything longhand -- black ink is just a habit.

But back then... whoo... somewhere in there I did a comparison and decided that blue ink make my handwriting look messier (than normal), and that I didn't need that sort of help.

I'm with ya on the G-2 black pen! They're the most perfect pen ever manufactured. :)

That and Vanilla with Hershey's chocolate rocks! Absolute favorite! :)
