Friday Group Therapy - the History Edition.

1. How well did you do in History class in school?

Alright. Better when it was a topic that directly impacted whatever game I was running.

2. Who is your favorite historical “good” person?

Lao-tzu. Certainly a wise and good person, but also someone who got depressed and pissed off about the government. I like saints I can live up to.

3. Who is your favorite historical “bad” person?

Rasputin, baby.

4. Is there a historical event or era that has caught your imagination?

The 1930’s. (Well, okay: not the ‘real’ 30’s… the pulp 30’s :)

5. If you could choose any historical time and place to live, where and when would you choose?

I think right here would be just fine, thanks.

6. If you could go back in time with your present knowledge intact, where would you go and what would you do?

1925. Spend the next three years making a killing in the stock market, then pull everything out just before the crash and put it into IBM just after the crash. I would then return home (2002) and live like a king in Patagonia.

Sadly, this is not the first time that this plan has occured to me.

7. Which version of the beginning of time do you subscribe to? (Big Bang, Biblical Creation, etc…)

Actually, there’s a new, modified version of the Big Bang that I quite like, in which the universe simply has an ebb and flow to it, expanding and contracting (which would indicate the possiblility of several big bangs over the course of giga-millenia). I like the idea of a never-ending universe that goes through natural life-cycles.

Bonus: Call and/or visit a friend or family member who you have not seen in a while. Record the details in your weblog.

Well, getting geared up for the Blogathon, I see. Don't blow all of the good ideas, now. Pace yourself. You do realize that it hasn't officially started, right?

Actually, this is just a result of all of my co-workers being out of town.

Hey, why bother with the bad medical practices of the 20s when you could just go back to 1990, make a huge killing in Microsoft, et al., sell off in 2000, buy some non-tech stuff in January 2001, then sell it all off again in May 2002. Talk about making a killing ... and you could lord it over all your friends about that new Buffy show ...
