So the HOA sent us a letter yesterday.
That rose trellis we’ve had up for over a year? That needs to come down or get approved.
Oh, and your lawn looks a little dry.
Really? I can’t imagine why. Could it be because we can only water the lawn two evenings a week or be fined hundreds of dollars? Could it be because our water bill doubles any usage that goes over our monthly average for MID-FEBRUARY?
It’s a drought, you dimwits. Look it up.
(I cannot wait to turn the whole damn lawn into xeriscape :P)

Re the rose trellis. "Fine. Frickin' approve it then."
Re the lawn ... well, you said it just fine.
Jerks.

Oh, they have to be approved after I describe what I'm "planning" on doing with them.
And frame them... bleah. Back to the hardware dept.

Luckily the city of Thornton sent out HoA a letter telling them to back off of people about their lawns due to the drought. I kept that letter just in case, but we haven't heard anything from the HoA so far.
