Spam Assassin rates every incoming email, tallying up all the points earned and blocking anything with a score over 5.

Serious spam tends to hit the 15 to 30-point range.

If I could figure out how to raise the “threshhold score” from 5 to about… 7.5, I think I’d be entirely satisfied with it. It’s just a leeetle too tight right now.

You need to copy down the configuration file (user_prefs) in the hidden root .spamassasin directory of your domain. The internal instructions (which also let you whitelist various sources, as well as change the weighting of different tests) describe how to change the threshold level ("required_hits").
