Out of the blue, “Take this Job and Shove It” has taken up residence in the back of my head and begun playing in a constant loop. It’s been going on since about 10 am.

I've got 6 different versions of Take This Job in MP3.

Dead Kennedys
The original
NIN
A death metal version by some German death metal band
Hank Williams Jr.
And another one I don't recall at this moment.

Oh my, german death metal.
I bet that one is special...

I bet I'd like it, too...
heh.

I was never a fan of Death Metal, but recently, being totally fed-up with most of the studio recorded music since, 1995, I started looking for other things.

In '93 I got a Metalica cover album by Die Krups (German D.M.) and really liked it. A couple years ago I found The Blackest Album, which is German D.M. covers of Metalica and really, really liked it.

So now I've been picking up cover albums by Death Metal bands of things I like, Iron Maiden, Led Zepp, classic country, NIN, Savatage, etc.

Heck Johnny Cash does some killer covers too.

While it's not my favorite genre, I don't knock Death Metal anymore.

Actually, you say death metal, and I am really thinking of a totally different genre...

I got a compilation of stuff from a friend (way back) in college... dance/acid/techno/cutting edge at the time... and there is a German band on there with a heavily accented repeating line (likely from a movie??) that says "You are obsolete..."

But the idea of German Death Metal doing Take This Job continues to amuse me...

So are you thinking about quiting your job, you have had a lot of posts lately in the bitch, bitch, bitch arena related to your job.

Actually, even after all the running around and cell phone calls until the battery dies off and everything else, this has been one of the better weeks at the job since I've started.

Reason? I'm actually DOING what they HIRED me to do, FINALLY.
