I got Jake about two years ago, give or take. Sometime in November of 2000, anyway. He was about five months old when we got him, which makes him about two and a half now. 17.5 in dog years — still very affectionate for a teenager. This would be a shot of him at around 2 years of age.

My depressing little secret: the thought that we’ve already spent one-quarter of the time he’s almost sure to be around (due to his breed) creeps into the back of my mind almost every time I see him.

Yeah, it’s a stupid thing. He’s just Such. A. Great. Dog.

Anyway. Need to go let some client yell at me for awhile.

Yup, our little fluffball Cupid is almost 3 and full of life, but I lost a dog right before getting Cupid and I had her for 15 years...it's tought knowing that they won't grow old with us.

He's a mix, with lab, yes?
That might offset the Dane a bit.

He is such a cutie!
