To paraphrase Monthy Python, this is not a day for drinking, this is a day for lying down and avoiding. I’m sure there’s a few appropriate Dorothy Parker quotes that I could mangle as well, but who’s got the time?
Not me.
Jackie and Justin drive out of town tomorrow in the a.m. On the one hand, if I were going with them I’d be out of the office a few more days, which I have no objection to were I still here and not in some strange(r’s) house at the corner of No & Where. What to do at the in-laws place when most of them have to work until Christmas Eve — it’s not as though people journey to South Dakota for the shopping.
So. Staying here and flying out later for a much shortened version of the normal holiday visit. Four days of shaving optional and a very quiet T.V. — somewhat like my business trips in reverse.

Admit it, running around in your underwear with noone around has its appeal.

In the (hypothetical) situation wherein I'm running around the house in my underwear, you feel sorry for the dogs?
Their noses are COLD, I might remind you.

I journey to South Dakota to shop...
Better gunshops than out here in Oregon. Better ammo as well.
I got a screamin' deal on a Super Black-Eagle in Rapid. And I got a buttload of .223 NATO from Black Hills Ammo.
I drive to Rapid just to buy ammo and long-guns.
