So, Jackie calls this morning and says,
“[Justin’s Teacher] just called me…”
My chest just collapses when conversations start like that.
“… and he wanted us to know that Justin is performing at a full sixth-grade reading level at this point, according to the last aptitude tests.”
From collapse to burst in .02 seconds.
I mean, when the kid got here, he was in third grade and couldn’t read street signs. That works out to him catching up 2 grade levels a year for the last three years. (Almost exactly three years, since he started school in Denver in January of 2000.)
Yay. :)
