I know (from watching the comment activity) that most of you aren’t that interested in the stuff I’m putting up about what’s going on in Iraq (either because you’ve already seen it or just don’t want to discuss it) — I apologize for filling the screen with a bunch of stuff that’s not that interesting.
Not going to stop, but I apologize.
I know it’s not really an auditorium-filling feature of the page (it’s both more than what the uninterested want to see and less than what those following the news look for), but what’s going on over there is very interesting to me — mostly because I hate that our people are in danger and I want it to be done and over with quickly, efficiently, and with minimum loss of life on all sides — everything I read that has to do with that is something I want to remember in the days and years to come, so down it goes on the closest thing I have to a private (hah!) journal.
So, the troops are within five miles of Bahgdad — special units swept through one of Saddam’s palaces yesterday, they’ve moved in around Saddam Intnt’l Airport — I’m excited that the major battles might be over soon, at which point I’m sure we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Until then, bear with me and my obsessions and keep a good thought for the people putting themselves in danger because they were ordered to.
