Two things I’m sort of impressed by:

1. The guy was from Denver, and I feel pleased that this common sense was displayed by someone from my home town.

2. During his talk, he explained that airport security measures had pretty much solved the problem of firearms being carried aboard, but not weapons of the type the terrorists apparently used, plastic knives or those fashioned from wood or ceramics. The guy should get a freaking commendation for telling the truth about this, especially when airports are suspending employees for saying the same thing.

With that said, I’ve gotta wince at the idea of introducing myself to people on every flight I take. I’m gonna make up stuff about myself if we have to introduce ourselves to fellow passengers (with apologies to Grosse Pointe Blank):
-”I’m a pet psychologist.”
-”Licenced Practical Sexual Therapist, why?”
-”I sell keychain insurance.”
-”You’re a handsome devil, what’s your name?”
-”Undercover Hare Krishna.”
