So while Jackie was picking up WarCraft III yesterday and I was deciding not to get the new Indiana Jones game, Hitman 2, Rogue Spear, Mechwarrior Mercenaries, or any of a couple others, I noticed The Transporter on the DVD rack.

Looked like a fun movie in previews. I never got to see it, though, and I’d regretted it. It’s PG-13, so it’s got some possible rewatchability for the Boy (in theory, and assuming he ever gets to watch television EVER AGAIN. Ahem.), so I picked it up.

The Verdict: Download and watch the short films (or request the DVD collection) at BMWmovies.com instead. Better acting, better driving, better guest stars, better dialogue and better directors.

Just… better. I went back and watched a couple of them with Jackie after The Transporter, just to cleanse my mental palette. (A shame, because I like the lead actor’s role in Snatch.)

The only thing that puzzles me is the number of people who’ve told me it was an entertaining bit of gloss.

Neither glossy nor entertaining. The end.

Yes...

Jason Statham was great in Snatch. He was also very good in Mean Machine (a Soccer/Football version of the Burt Rynolds movie..with Vinnie Jones). And he was great in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (with Vinnie Jones as the best/scariest bad guy I've seen in the Movies in a long time). If you liked Snatch (except for all the girls/guys that only watched to swoon over Brad Pit) you will also enjoy the Comedy/excitment of LSaTSB!

Looking on IMDB...He is going to be in the Italian Job With Edward Norton (I might be able to forgive him for Fight Club by now), Seth Green, and Charlize Theron. You may have seen the previews of it with the Mini' chase through a subway system (cool! a chase seen with Mini's!).

The only Italian Job is the real Italian Job.

Michael Caine - Benny Hill - 1969

They're going to foul it up like they fouled up Oceans 11

Supposedly they changed the Italian Job a lot, so that they're very different movies with the same name. The trailer looks great. Don't remember the original though I must have caught it on TV sometime in the last 20 years.

I'm one of the ones that liked the Transporter OK. Doyce's and my tastes run parallel a lot but there's the odd movie where we're just amazed at the other's lack of judgement.

I liked Transporter.

It was everything it was suposed to be.

An action movie around Statham.

It had the guys that did the auto choregraphy for Ronin, it had the South of France.

I bought it, I liked it.
