U.S. Arms Team to Leave Iraq.

The group directing all known U.S. search efforts for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is winding down operations without finding proof that President Saddam Hussein kept clandestine stocks of outlawed arms, according to participants.

Isn’t a hell of a lot to say after that. Really glad we liberated an oppressed people, yes. Saddam’s a rat bastard and should be out of power, yes. Wondering if that means we now go after 45 similar abusive regimes all over the world and thinking the answer is ‘nope‘.

Surely, there’s some suspicious stuff:

Task force members consistently found targets identified by Washington to be inaccurate, looted and burned, or both.

But ‘investigating suspicious activity’ wasn’t the reason given for the war. Not really. Okay, not at all.

I always thought the Administration's focus on WMD was idiotic.

They should have said, "He's a bastard and we're going to take out the trash".

As for not finding anything at this point, my response is "So?" They are still finding chemical weapons the Japanese left in China back in 1945.

There are still Soviet caches across western Europe that Spetnaz would have used during the invasion.

Does there need to be a war to end the BS going on in Central Africa? Yes.

Will it happen? No, the political price of a "white" war on "black" Africa will be too high. Even though 3 million have died there. As long as the metals come out of Africa, we won't go in.

The United States and Japan are moving more and more towards oil from Africa, it will become more important in the coming decade.

The scary thing will be what happens in Saudi Arabia and Iran when thier importance fades.
