The follicly-focused friday five
1. What shampoo do you use?
Aussie brand with kangaroo’s paw (the flower, not the meat).
2. Do you use conditioner? What kind?
Nah. My hair doesn’t get long enough to warrant it.
3. When was the last time you got your hair cut?
Middle of last week. When my hair gets long enough to require a comb, I get it cut, or buzz it myself.
4. What styling products do you use?
A straight razor.
5. What’s your worst hair-related experience?
A few years ago for Halloween, I was getting dressed up in a full-out chinese martial arts outfit. To really screw with everyone’s head, I thought it would be funny to dye my hair black, so it really wouldn’t look like me.
But you see, my hair is light, so “Black” really means “dark blue”.
Then I did the really stupid thing and said “well, if it’s dark now, dyeing it again right away should get it truly black.”
Don’t do that… it’s very bad.
So at that point, I’ve got Dark Blue hair, a couple of acid-based scalp burns, and a deeply stained scalp. I hit the reset button the next day and just shaved it all off (which I was doing pretty often back then anyway), but it was about a week before my scalp healed and it took that same amount of time for the blue stains to fade. Not pretty.
After I buzzed all the hair off, my sink looked like we’d tried to pull Cookie Monster down through the drain.
[bonus] What’s up this weekend?
Blessedly little: People are coming over tonight. I’ve got pretty much all day to get caught up on some projects on Saturday, then the Cry Havoc people are coming over that night. Sunday we’ve got nothing until the afternoon, which is when Dave and Margie are coming over. They (and Justin) haven’t seen Star Wars yet, so we’re all going.
I hope it keeps raining so I can put off the landscaping for a few more days and work on my indoor stuff, but the smart money says that stage 2 of the ‘02 Land War will begin this weekend.
