From the long and winding blog:

1. Fast-food or regular (sit-down) restaurant?

Fast food, preferably something with “chicken” in the name, which rule should be obvious in it’s necessity, given my history.

2. If or when you go to fast-food places…drive-through or walk in?

Drive through. Such restaurants were not put on earth to provide ambience.

3. Any restaurant food…eat in or take out?

Eat in. Take out’s a hassle. By preference, delivery.

4. You are at a restaurant and are too full to finish your meal. Do you leave it, or ask to have it wrapped up to go?

I’d probably leave it. Jackie’s more likely to ask for a box. On the other hand, I’m more likely to actually EAT said leftovers the next day.

5. Where does most of your food come from…restaurants or the grocery store?

Grocery store, by leaps and bounds. Right now, I probably eat fast food once a week, since I work close to home and eat lunch there.

6. Do you shop for food at a supermarket or a convenience store?

Supermarket. There’s a huge one 3 minutes from our house.

7. You have 13 items in your cart. Do you try to go through the *12 Items of Less* express line or grit your teeth and get into the regular line?

Regular line. That’s if you can get me into the store in the first place, which isn’t easy, but if you can, I’ll obey the rules and only hope that everyone else is doing so as well — the whole experience is so hellish to me that one line is very much like the next.

8. If you shop at a store that has them, do you use the regular or self-scan checkouts?

Self-scan, baby. If the machine isn’t acting up, I’ll be out in under 2 minutes. I only wish they’d get rid of that stupid thing where you have to firmly set everything into a bag. Annoying.

9. Paper or plastic - Part One…what kind of bags do you take?

Plastic, generally. No particular reason for it except that we recycle them ad nauseum at the house, and paper doesn’t stop drippy stuff from dripping.

10. Paper or plastic - Part Two…which payment method do you use when buying food?

Plastic. Specifically, a debit card that comes directly out of my bank account (I don’t like actual credit cards). I rarely carry cash and write checks only to pay the few bills that aren’t auto-paid every month.

I don’t eat at places that don’t take cards. Buncha primates.

Paper bags may not stop drips dead in their tracks, but they certainly soak up a lot of stuff. And since most plastic grocery bags come with holes and tears conveniently already in the bottom of them, that makes them even worse than useless.

Plastic.

You can carry 2-5 plastic bags in each hand while with paper it's 1 per paw max.

Milk goes into plastic much better.

I seldom have a grocery store plastic bag fail. Plastic bags from Frys suck.

As for cards...hell I usually carry 200-700 dollars cash on me, I say, if you can't pay cash, you don't need to buy it.

I object to the idea that he even answered #6, #7, #8, #9 or #10. Taking him to the grocery store is like going to get a rectal exam, no one should have to go there.
