I love MT.
Getting MovableType to run on a Micro$oft-based web-server (work-related, or I’d be on my luverly HostingMatters, natch), is a pain.
I’m not honestly even sure it’s possible.
1. Files must be in cgi-bin to run, due to server settings.
2. Server settings won’t let you point a browser at the cgi-bin directory.
3. MT setup requires pointing the browser at the .cgi files to set it up, which are either (a) in a directory I can’t point at or (b) outside that directory, and thus unable to run.
Ah-iggit. Blah.

Gotta get the sysadmin involved...

If the powers-that-is decide it's worth my precious time, that'll be how I kill my Friday.

Or I could just watch CBT's on software I'll never train on. Good, clean, Soviet-work-system fun... after that, we plan to go outside and get paid to watch just one of us dig a ditch.

Y'know, there's a reason why a lot of companies host their web stuff on, well, things other than M$ servers.
You could probably recycle a middle-of-the-road workstation in the office and turn it into a Linux/Apache thang. Then no problem, right?

I had the same issues with my Windows XP Pro system. I eventually went to HostCabin. If I had to do it from a work server, Dave has the right idea. Linux all the way, baby!
