On the Palm:
Fatal Error.
Erase all Data?: “Up” key.
Continue?: Any other Key.
Guess which option actually worked.
Update:
Two hot-syncs and almost everything — all the programs, all my files — were back.
God I love this thing. I left it at home today accidentally and felt it’s absence the whole time, only to be greeted by what, on a lesser (*coff*Microsoft*coff*) operating system would have been a catastrophic message was just too much.
So… YAY PALM!
Bitch Bitch Bitch

Ouch! I've never seen that one.
Hmmm. Guess that's why you sync regularly, right?

BTW, thanks for the Big Clock link! So nice to have a clock on my desk that I can see :-)

I've had my PocketPC device for almost a year now. I've NEVER had to do a hard reset. On my Palm, I had to do one almost weekly.

That's not a kick in the nuts.
Brand new Maxtor 80GB Hard Disk fails. 9 hours later, 20 GB IBM Hard Disk fails (taking three MUSHes and some websites with it) then 5 hours later the backup drive fails.
That's a kick in the nuts.
Datasavers wants 5400 dollars to get my backup drive's data. Even though I have the money, I'll spend it on something more important.
5400 frickin' dollars.
And no, it wasn't a virus or a powerfailure, it seems to have been the fickle finger of fate pokin' at my belly.
