Got my wordcount in early yesterday. I was motived to this by folks coming over for Amber, during which (in between my turns) I crammed some Neil Gaiman into my head (one of several Consortium loaners I’ve been storing away like a squirrel against the oncoming winter), some of which I’d unknowingly already read in another medium. Fun game, also.
Justin went to the local supervised ‘Saturday night Live’ kid’s dance/hang-out thing at the rec center, which he manages to earn the right to attend about half the time. This evening was interesting in that he got punched in the back by some guy who didn’t like him dancing with his (the guy’s) sister so much. Ahh, young love (and disturbingly overprotective and jealous kinfolk). Justin took care of it with the supervisors and kept on dancing.
(Slow dancing, apparently, cuz damned if that kid has any moves that look like he’s not physically impaired.)
Today Jackie and Justin have run off to go shopping here and there for Christmas things and some more stain for the back deck.
They’ve opened an Eddie Bauer outlet store near us — good thing we’re finishing up the house refinancing soon.
I was already feeling a growing resentment just imagining having to deal with some of the stores she was planning for, so I opted out of going along simply to keep everyone happier. Gar’blesser, Jackie nodded knowingly and took off without me — sometimes I’m nothing but a hindrance when shopping. I might still go out to a store or two, though — I’ve got some things to pick up for Christmas as well (which I won’t mention here, I think) and I’m getting a little stir crazy — maybe pick up a few CD’s, a few books, and stop at the new Mac store down the street that just opened… or check out the nifty new Dell notebooks with the built in wireless connection… Sony’s got a new handheld out that looks pretty cool, too…
Did I mention that refinance? I pay off big bills with it very quickly so I don’t do anything stupid.
Except what I save back for England.
We’re going to England in February (with ***Dave and Margie and Lori and Dave G) — did I mention that?
The plan?: Get back to the house a couple hours from now and tappity tap til Angel and Alias come on. With any luck I’ll get my count out before the shows start and can get to bed a little earlier than normal.
Sad fact: that I screwed up and got the full-screen version of Spiderman instead of the widescreen is eating away at me.
