Half-day at work tomorrow.

The plan for my half-day? Set up software at a new site so that the bare minimum functionality is there (this usually takes three days of custom setup so that it accurately reflects the complexities of each office) and leave a few pages of ‘tips’ on how to do the basic things (summarizing what is normally another three days of training), so that they can start immediately.*

Leave to simmer for two weeks (the soonest I have a spot open on my schedule for real training) while they stumble along with partially set up software and no formal training in a live office.

This ‘solution’ is supposed to make the client ‘happy’.

Sure.

* - They simply ‘can not wait any longer,’ which means they finally paid us for the software last Friday.

That's the kind of end user/client BS that drove me to sing "Take this job and shove it" and enroll in college again.

How amazingly ... not-likely-to-encourage-further-sales.
