Went to the Broncos game on Sunday with Jackie and Justin as the last of our Christmas presents to each other.
- Portis set a couple rookie rushing records.
- Steve Beuerlein threw a couple great passes (one of which was a huge bombing-run to Eddie Mac.
- They (predictably) creamed the the Cardinals.
Yeah, I know the game didn’t matter, but it was still a really good time. Justin had never been to a stadium of any kind and he had a ball — he knew Denver was out of the running for the playoffs, but that didn’t matter — the crowd cheered, did the wave a couple times, and chanted INNNN-COMMMM-PLETE! every time the Cardinals blew a pass.
It was December 29th — sunny and gorgeous with a high of 57 degrees when the game started that (desert climate) plummeted to 38 by the time the final buzzer sounded — just a great day to be outside and enjoying ourselves. It was all Jackie’s idea, so here’s me saying thanks.
That said, I also want to say Happy Holidays to everyone. I’ve got lots to write about the few days I had for vacation back in South Dakota, but now is not the time for anything but sleep.
