Funny!
I guess the 45 minutes that it took you to get to the Zoo did not count.

I am trying really hard not to think of why she would need a pawn shop open all of the time anyway.

It wasn't so much 'need' as it was 'this is the mental yardstick I'm using to measure such things'. A 45 minute drive is no big deal (that's how far you drive to get to the movie theatre in SoDak).

45 minutes to a movie theatre...that's for yous fancy East River folk.
It was 85 minutes to Pierre, and if you wanted a choice or daytime movies on a weekday, it was 2 hours and 45 minutes to Rapid City.
Hell for 4 years I drove 90 minutes each way for a spinal tap every week and 3 times a week for injections that had the side effect of "sudden death".
I miss those days like I miss being beaten about the head and neck with a tire-iron.

But if the traffic is wrong enough, it can still take 45 minutes to get to a movie theatre in Portland.

Let me qualify the 45 minutes...
45 minutes with traffic, houses, and more traffic. Not 45 minutes with cows, corn, soybeans, corn, and more cows...oh yeah, and a car or two!
*grin*

The worst part is when you are cooking along at about 115 in the MR-2 because you have to make a funeral, and then you pop over a hill and Rawhide is right there in living color.

Yep...
That photo looks like the open range section south of Ft. Garland to the NM/CO state line. Plenty of dead cows on the road.
