I think if I were standing in complete darkness, and put my hand out and found it in contact with my Dad’s shoulder, I’d recognize him just by that. I don’t know what that is.
Not only that but the contact alone would make me feel better.
It was good to have him here tonight. It’s never enough time, but we’ll take what we can get.
Who else could get away with handing me a bag full of fragile stuff to carry and then saying “don’t drop that”?
Scratch that. Who else could do that and have it make me grin instead of growl?

We had dad here last week and it is great to have him around. It never is enough time, you're right, but it makes you appreciate the time.

It wasn't a visit as much as a "I'm on the way to Fresno from Iowa and do you want to have supper?"

I've been more than happy to hand you something fragile and say "Don't drop that."
