This is pretty mind-blowing (though hopefully not literally): scientists have created an M&M-sized implant that has been implanted in the brain of a monkey. With the implant, the monkey can, with little to no training, move the computer’s mouse cursor around accurately.
Maybe mental immortality (of a sort) will eventually be some sort of data backup and SQL replication :P
Since I’m currently working on a lot of SQL-related junk, I find this possibility chilling, but this brain implant thing… that’s pretty cool.
