Zacarias Moussaoui, accused of being assigned as the twentieth hijacker, made his first statements in court today. He asked the judge to fire his court-appointed lawyers. Instead, he wants to use the thirty grand that he had in his possession when he was arrested to hire a Muslim lawyer to advise him.

“I pray for the destruction of the Jewish people and state and the liberation of Palestine… I pray for the return of the Islamic emirates of Afghanistan and the destruction of the United States,” he said. “I will be ready in October.”
