Apologies if this is in poor taste but I believe a person needs to get their feelgood props for working hard.

Ladies and gentlemen, Marn’s hot. That is all: photographic proof of the power of the elliptical runner. (At at least one really cool Canadian :)

I thought it particularly appropriate that the tag-line your page generated when I visited was:

"Everybody lies, but that's okay because nobody listens."

Hot? Nah. But man oh man I can't begin to tell you how much I yearn to be able to cover 3 miles in 35 minutes on that machine.

Want to know the funniest part? When I was in high school and this would have been easy for me, I disdained all athletics. I thought the jocks were ... oh, there's no polite way to put this--morons--and felt only bookish things had any merit.

Then a few years back, some of our friends started dropping of heart attacks. Strokes. Even cancer.

Suddenly, a little fitness doesn't seem out of order, ya know? Oh, and the best part? It doesn't just strengthen the body--it strengthens the spirit. All those exercise endorphins have pulled me through some fairly gray times. Nobody is more surprised by that than I am, eh?

I keep hitting a wall trying for 5 miles in 60 minutes.

4.5 miles I can do... 5 just doesn't seem to want to get there.

It's not that I can't maintain the pace, but my feet come off the damn elliptical :)
