Jackie spoke with the HOA folks today, who were (wonder of wonders) quite friendly and understanding about the whole lawn situation, largely because Jackie was friendly and understanding (again, wonder of wonders), of course.
1. They changed the ‘deadline’ on ‘fixing’ whatever they think is wrong with the lawn until September 15th.
2. The guy Jackie spoke with shared an interesting tidbit: 98% of the lawncare letters that go out to homeowners do so at the initial behest of realtors who are showing properties in the area and report a lawn that, in their opinion, hurts their chances of making sales (the HOA then goes and checks up on the addresses thus reported).
The degree to which this makes me want to smack the crap out of every realtor I see cannot easily be measured without scientific notation.

I find it heartening (if frustrating) that it's not the neighbors "dropping a dime."
The time lag of Realtors(TM) narking on you to the HOA confirming to sending a letter confirms that the report is certainly out of date by the time you get it.
Did you get any further explanation of what deadly sin you'd committed? Or was it just general yard malaise?

That final line?
Made me laugh out loud.

Ha! I'm thinking of stealing that line Doyce. It made me snort pepsi out of my nose. It's more directed towards managers at the moment for me, but it still works.
On a different note my HOA actually sent out a letter asking us to list the things we'd like removed from the regulations. Guess that's the difference between Firestone and Highlands Ranch.
